The newly restored Ormond Castle
Without doubt, Ormond Castle is jewel in the crown of Carrick attractions. It’s a mere five-minute walk from Hotel Lane Townhouse and is operated by the Office of Public Works.

The castle was closed for some time for renovations but reopened at the end of June 2017.
There are guided tours here every day and you can learn about the colourful Black Tom Butler and his fascination with Queen Elizabeth the First!
This page is by Heritage Ireland with further information on opening hours and available tours.
